The Prentice Project is an attempt to use theater arts to teach tolerance among today's young adults. By working with students during adolescence, the program stimulates independent thinking and builds the confidence needed to assimilate in today's challenging world. By combining sociological concepts with performance art, the students are encouraged to think deeply about themselves and the world around them in a safe, secure classroom environment where failure really does not exist except as a positive model.

In a five-day residency, the students use improvisation and theater games to explore the definitions of art, success, perception, and reality.

In addition, the curriculum works with academic teachers to give students a chance to apply what they have learned in other classes such as literature, social studies, and humanities.
